Cadets

Initially started in 1973 the Cadet Section of the Colne Yacht Club continues to attract a lively and enthusiastic group of 8-18 year olds for weekly Saturday morning sessions on the water.

The Cadets meet in the club Boat Yard from 9:30am on every Saturday from May to October. After checking that the boats are properly rigged and everyone is appropriately dressed with suitable buoyancy aids and wet weather gear the boats are taken down to the Hard and launched ready for a morning of activity on the water.

The Cadets are always accompanied by 2 club safety boats crewed by suitably qualified parents and volunteers. Parents are actively encouraged to get involved.

To participate in any CYC Cadets activities, a consent form must be completed by the legal guardian, parent/carer.
