Sailing Programme, Sailing Instructions, Race Entry Form, Course Card, Notice Of Race, and Protest Form
The Sailing Committee puts together a full year of racing, including a Spring and Autumn Series for cruisers going round the marks. There are also very popular Pursuit Races which are mostly held on Fridays with some of these on Wednesdays. The Cock of the River series is suitable for slower boats who do one lap as well as faster boats who do two laps, followed by an affordable after-race supper. These races have proved extremely popular in recent years. The Club also provides the venue for the inter-club Wallet Shield race and party.
The Sailing Instructions have been revised to require all CYC boats to fly code flag 5 while racing. This is to assist the Race Officer and other competitors when the river near the start/finish line gets busy. Flags can be bought from local chandleries or sewn together from scrap material if you prefer.
Please download and read the instructions and then complete a CYC Entry Form before your first race. Forms can be returned to the CYC office, the Bar or the Race Officer before your first start.
The 2019 Spring Series begins on Saturday 6th April. The very popular “white sail only” Pursuit Races run on Friday evenings from Friday 10th May and the relaxed Cock of the River series with an affordable after-race supper begins on Saturday 27th April. The dates of other races can be seen in the sailing programme.
