The BOD rig is remarkably tall for an open 18 foot racing day boat so that the mainsail constantly needs to be depowered. |
The class was designed by Robbie Stone in Brightlingsea in 1927 and next year (2002) is thus the 75th anniversary of the class.

The boats are beautiful, the racing is incredibly close and competitive, the sailors are great fun to be in a fleet with and Brightlingsea is, of course, sailing heaven
